The Story of Jack
So, this is Jack. Our story is kind of a funny one—it all started through the ex of my ex. She knew I had a real love for horses and thought Jack and I would be a great match. And as it turned out, Jack stayed in my life much longer than the person who introduced us. Caring for him became one of the most meaningful experiences in my life.
Jack was different from any horse I’d known. He had this strong, introverted personality—he could be calm one moment, and full of energy the next. But what made him so special was his sensitivity. With Jack, I learned to really pay attention to the little things, the body language, the unspoken cues. He helped me understand not just horses better, but how we communicate with people and animals in general.
One day, we were in the pasture, soaking up the sun, and Jack did something I’ll never forget: he lay down next to me. It was a moment of pure trust and connection, and it just stuck with me. That’s why I chose this image: it shows Jack’s softer side, his vulnerability, and the trust we shared. I think it’s a perfect reflection of my work too, about connection, well-being, and the artistry that comes with that.
Though Jack’s now found a new home, I still miss him every day. He’ll always be a part of me, in my heart and soul, and in the work that I do.
And if any of this resonates with you, if you’ve shared a special connection with an animal, a person, or even a place, I’d love to hear your story.
