Self portrait

For as long as I am a photographer, I have been taking self-portraits: cathartic, therapeutic, a space to experiment and play. It’s a journey of self-acceptance and a visual document of aging, growth, and transformation.

The power of seeing yourself

To stand before the lens is to see yourself as both subject and storyteller. Some days, it feels like an act of courage. Other days, it’s pure curiosity. But always, it is a moment of pause.
A way to check in, to acknowledge, to create without expectation.

Process & Experimentation

I rarely follow a strict plan. Sometimes, it’s the light hitting a certain way, a shadow playing on the wall, or an emotion I can’t quite put into words. These portraits are a mix of instinct and intention, capturing fleeting moments of raw expression.

I experiment with angles, motion, softness, and contrast. Sometimes embracing the imperfections, sometimes chasing an aesthetic I don’t yet fully understand

Aging & Transformation

To document oneself over time is to witness change in its purest form.
These images hold echoes of who I was, glimpses of who I am, and shadows of who I might become.

They remind me that time moves, that perspectives shift, that beauty is not fixed but fluid.

What Do You See?

What do you feel when you see yourself?
If you were to take a self-portrait today, what story would it tell?

Self-portraiture is not just about photography—it’s about reflection. A moment to step outside of ourselves and, truly look.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. What does self-portraiture mean to you?
